Quickdex can dial any number in a card, but always 'finds' the first one.Incidently, I'm trying to beat Bill. If you want to send $2,000,000,000, instead of $20, that's OK. Then I only need 4 people to send in their checks. Contact the author through Compuserve 70444,127 to have customized versions of Quickdex made, or to acquire a site license.
Site licenses make it cheap enough to put Quickdex on every PC in your organization. Put Quickdex and your corporate phone list an a LAN. Save mainframe and PROFS directory lookups. Save the cost of printing phone books. Remember the SPA is watching your every move!Quickdex (for the Mac) was originally written by Bill Atkinson (one of the original Mac SW gurus -- way back when their were dinosaurs and 64K was a lot).
Bill released a Freeware version (0.5) as an application with limited (but handy) features. Besides the freeform database, Quickdex could act as a phone dialer, either through the serial port or using the Mac's speaker (something possible on the Mac which has three sound channels).
Cassidy and Greene came out with a version of Quickdex which they sold for $40. Essentially it was the same application as the original, with Bill's freeware message gone, and implemented as a DA.
This version of Quickdex (1.08a) improves an all previous versions and takes into account feedback from many users. Please send me a note if you think Quickdex is lacking, I incorporate most suggestions I receive into new versions.
